Morgan Stanley has downgraded Bureau Veritas, alongside two other important players in the technical inspection sector, using a line of reasoning that predicts a tougher climate ahead for all major classification societies.
Analysts Jessica Flounders, David Hancock and Jonathan Taylor — in a note emailed to investors this week — demoted Bureau Veritas and Switzerland’s SGS from ‘equal weight’ to ‘underweight’.
